Tibet has entered the collection peak of cordyceps sinensis, according to video conference about cordyceps sinensis management, May 10.
Up to May 9, the number of people started to collect cordyceps sinensis on the mountains in Tibet had hit 88,464 and it's still increasing with hundreds of people more per day.
Analysis of the situations of cordyceps sinensis and market demands, the related departments have made specific measures to ensure the profits of farmers and herdsmen and protect the grassland ecological environment.
In 2009, a total of 377,000 people from 38 counties were engaged in cordyceps sinensis collection business. The annual output reached about 36,000 kg, with 25% decrease than 2008. However, the sales revenue grew to 2 billion yuan which played important role in increasing incomes of farmers and herdsmen.
