14:21, June 08, 2010

Fresh cordyceps sinensis from Nagqu Prefecture (the main origin of cordyceps sinensis) has become available in the market in mid-June and its price is expected to be up by 10% per kilo according to a local market.

Dubbed as the "soft gold", cordyceps sinensis has been used to protect the bone marrow and digestive system as a genus of ascomycete fungi.

Up to now, the price is already fourfold since it began to rise in November, 2009. During the Labor Day holiday, each kilo of 3,000 pieces of cordyceps sinensis will reach up to 105,000 yuan, the highest price since 2009. However, after the holiday the price fell back down to 87,000 yuan per kilo.

Some market research analysts claimed earlier that the current price of the cordyceps sinensis has reached its peak and would fall steadily this year. However, as the cordyceps sinensis from Nagqu is so popular that it is expected to rise again by a small margin.
