Better cordyceps sinensis thanks to abundant rain
17:02, June 18, 2010

Fresh cordyceps sinensis has been put onto the market at the moment. Thanks to abundant rain this year, Nagchu enjoys a greater harvest of fresh cordyceps sinensis (known in English commonly as caterpillar fungus) with higher quality and larger quaintity compared with the outcome of last year, according to shopowners of cordyceps sinensis on the Yutuo Road in Lhasa, capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region(TAR).

The price of fresh cordyceps sinensis from Nagchu is around 10,000 Yuan higher than that of the same period last year, despite the larger quaintity favored by abundant rain this year. As a rule, the price may go down when supply exceeds demand in the market. However, the market price of cordyceps sinensis is largely dependent on the price of Nagchu cordyceps sinensis each year, according to the manager of Tibet North Plain Herbal Medicine Co, Ltd. The current price is around 12,000 to 14,000 Yuan for the fresh ordyceps sinensis from Nagchu area which contains 2000 to 2200 pieces of cordyceps sinensis per kilo.
