Ecotourism boosts economic growth in TAR

With abundant forestry resources, Nyingchi takes the lead in developing ecotourism in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).

Basum Co and Segyi La National Forest Parks, Brahmaputra Canyon National Nature Reserve and greenbelts along the State Highway 318 have been developed into famous ecotourism brands.

In 2009, Nyingchi received 1.1 million tourists with a total revenue of 800 million yuan.

A Tibetan woman from Ngapoi Village of Gongbo Gyamda County is selling her tourist products, July 18.
