The delegation of Chinese Writers' Association (CWA), headed by Tie Ning, president of CWA, visited Ngapoi New Village in Nyingchi Prefecturein the east of Tibet Autonomous Region on September 12.

Ngapoi New Village is the hometown of Ngapoi Ngawang Jigme, former vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

The writers interviewed the villager named Chodron Mom who showed great joy in talking about her family business. Her children have grown up and the whole family make good profits by selling packaged products of matsutake and mushrooms they collect themselves in summer beside handicrafts and cordyceps sinensis.

"How much can your family earn each year, elder mom?" asked the writers.

"We make around 70,000 to 80,000 yuan a year. Besides, we have 16 cattles and more than 11 mu of farmland." said Chodron Mom with a smile.

She likes watching Tibetan operas mostly in her spare time with a satellite TV receiver with over 20 channels equipped by the government for free.

The writers were deeply moved by Chodron Mom's happiness. They told the reporter that the villagers enjoy a "higher happiness index".
