China and Nepal jointly promote distinctive tourist products
10:44, September 16, 2010

The 4th Meeting of "China and Nepal Tourist Committee" was held on September 14th, 2010.

Both sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on management and reception of border tours, issuance of free passes for Chinese tourists' visits to Nepal, joint operation of distinctive tourist products such as rafting, reopening of the railway between Katmandu and Lhasa, etc.

China and Nepal has shared a friendly neighborly relationship for a long time. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and Nepal. Linked together by the same rivers and mountains, the two countries have considerable distinctions and complementarities in tourist resources.

"The facilities for traveling from China's Tibet Autonomous Region to Nepal have been well developed. The two sides will promote a series of tourist products including rafting, hiking, the Himalaya tour, etc." said Wang Songping, deputy director of the TAR Tourism Bureau.
