After many years of efforts made to crack down on illegal poaching of Tibetan antelopes, the number of Tibetan antelopes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has drastically increased.

At present, the Tibetan antelope, which has been listed as an endangered species and protected under the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species, has increased from 60,000 to 120,000 in Changtang Nature Reserve of Nagqu Prefecture.
