Tibetan official meets with Nepal Ambassador

Dogto, vice chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) met with Nepali Ambassador to China Tanka Prasad Karki and Consul General Naindra Prasad Upadhaya in Lhasa, capital city of TAR on Sunday afternoon.

Dogto on behalf of the regional government of TAR expressed his warm welcome to the Nepali Ambassador.

Dogto said, China and Nepal has enjoyed a lasting friendship, and both sides has maintained a stable diplomatic relations for 55 years.

Leveraging on the rapport between China and Nepal, the two countries have conceivably proved and deepened equal and harmonious coexistence, and have both benefitted from mutual cooperation in politics, economy, trade, tourism, transportation, culture and education.

China's Tibet Autonomous Region and Nepal have also been model neighbors for a long time, Dogto said. With more and closer exchanges between the two neighbors, cooperation in various aspects have been strengthened thanks to the joint efforts.

Currently, TAR and Nepal are facing new opportunities for further development. More high-level visits and none-governmental exchanges in culture, health, tourism and other areas are expected to be promoted.

"It is my great wish to visit Tibet and witness the great changes in Tibet," Ambassador Tanka Prasad Karki said. The Nepalese side will continue to support China on the Tibet issue and strive to deepen exchanges and cooperation in economic and cultural fields.
