Tibet electric utilities develops well

During the 11th Five-Year Plan period (2006-2010), Tibet's electric utilities have developed rapidly. By the end of 2010, the installed capacity of electric grid is expected to reach 0.886 million kw, which is 2.6 times than in 2005.

Qinghai-Tibet AC-DC networking project began successfully. On July 29, 2010 constructions of the project started, linking Xi'ning and Lhasa with investment of 16.286 billion yuan, and is expected to achieved by the end of 2012.

The installed capacity and power grid voltage level have been increased significantly. During the 11th Five-Year period, the new power capacity totaled 1.18 million kw. A lot of power stations have been constructed. All households in Tibet's villages have basically accessed to electricity network.
