Local low income people receive lump-sum government living allowance in Lhoka prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), photo from Tibet Daily.

The local government of Lhoka held a ceremony to grant lump-sum living allowance to low income groups, subsidizing 600 yuan to each person including retired workers, needy urban and rural residents, families who enjoy the "five guarantees" (guarantees for food, clothing, housing, medical care and burial expenses) and those who enjoy preferential treatment.

A total of 4,686 people received coupons or cash subsidies amounting to over 2.8 million yuan.
