Online store opened in thousand-year-old village
It is the midsummer in Tunda Village of Nyemo County, trees shade the street, Tunba River runs through the village, and flowers bestrewed banks of the river.
Several members are sitting in front of the computer, busy with the online store, which was opened in order to improve the sales volumes of Tibetan incense in Nyemo County.
Tunda Village has a history of more than 1300 years and it is the birthplace of Slob DponThon Mi, "the father of Tibetan language".
There are three incomparable handicrafts in Nyemo County, Tibetan incenses, Tibetan paper, and Tibetan engraving.
In order to better promote the tourism and to find a good market for Tibetan incenses, the working team of Nyemo County opened the first portal website at the village level, and opened three online stores respectively on Taobao.com and china.alibaba.com.
According to Sheng Rijie, leader of the working team, the incenses sell very well online. For example, the sales value on May 30 has reached 5,000 yuan.
