Several hot issues drew the attention of foreign media at the Open Day held on March 8, 2013 during the session of the 12th National People’s Congress. Following is the response from the Tibet Delegation of the National People's Congress.

Ethnic Han-Tibetan relations

"I have never felt any conflict between the ethnic Han and Tibetan. We are both parts of the Chinese nation," said Wu Yingjie, vice secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region.

He said that he has made many good Tibetan friends since he came to Tibet at the age of one.

Evidence of Dalai Lama’s incitation of self-immolations

"We certainly have evidence,"said Padma Choling, vice secretary, the Party Committee of the Tibet Autonous Region and Director-general of the Standing Committee of the Tibet People's Congress.

The Dalai Lama and his group should hold accountable for the self-immolations for it incited acts of harming lives, which were immoral and inhumane."

It has formed a complete chain of instigating, plotting and reporting abroad self-immolations. China has made public the processes of self-immolation cases, he added.

Sense of happiness and safety in Lhasa

"The city of Lhasa enjoys the best sense of happiness and safety," said Losang Tenpa, vice secretary-general of Lhasa Party Committee.

Last year, the satisfaction rate of urban dwellers of Lhasa reached 97.8 percent according to a survey by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. And the visitors from home and abroad also feel quite safe when they are visiting Lhasa, he added.

"Welcome you all to visit Lhasa,” he extended his invitation on the spot. "I will lead you the way."

"Tibet enjoys a stable and harmonious environment," said Qiangba Puncog, vice secretary of Tibet Party Committee.
