Dozens trapped in mine area landslide in Tibet

LHASA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of people were trapped after a large-scale landslide hit a mining area in Tibet Friday morning, local authorities said.

The landslide happened at about 6 a.m. in Maizhokunggar County of Lhasa, the regional capital, trapping dozens of workers from a subsidiary of China National Gold Group Corporation.

The exact number of trapped were not immediately known.

The rescue operation is underway.
