Today "H7N9" has become a hot topic in China. The spread of the new strain of bird flu is worrisome news. Ten years ago China suffered a lot from SARS, and nobody wants that to be repeated.

According to Deputy Director of the Health Department of Tibet, the regional government has taken measures to strengthen supervision over the quality of medical equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of flu and other related disease. A team of 22 doctors with expert medical clinical treatment from local hospitals in Tibet was set up to prevent the disease.

By Tuesday afternoon, China had reported a total of 28 H7N9 cases in Shanghai municipality and the provinces of Jiangsu, Anhui and Zhejiang, including nine fatalities, according to the National Health and Family Planning Commission.

Health departments at various leves in Tibet were also told to launch campaigns to check local medical equipment manufacturers for effective quality control systems, valid registration certificates for their products, adequate management of source materials and officially-approved labels and manuals.

Information on H7N9 infection was released timely and measures have been immediately to ensure people's safety in China. The public is being advised to avoid contact with poultry, to wash their hands and keep their homes well-ventilated. Chicken and eggs should be completely cooked.
