Six questions from Boao economists to Tibetan enterprises

As a high-end platform focused on Asian and even global economic development, the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference always highlights economic issues.

In the activity of Six Questions from Economists held on April 5, the first official activity of the conference, the famous international economists Edmund S Phelps, Hu Zuliu and Zhang Weiying, and entrepreneurs Chen Feng and Zhang Yue shared their opinions on the China's economic problems, such as economic innovation, internationalization and the relationship between governments and enterprises. The relative points were instructive to Tibet's economy.

Chen Feng, chairman of the board of Hainan Airlines Group, said that the most important aspect concerning enterprise innovation is the gathering of country mechanisms, culture and human resources. "The China Road and China Dream can't be realized without innovation."

In recent years, Tibet has been putting efforts on constructing a technological innovation system including taking enterprises as the main body oriented by the market and combining production, study and research. The market-oriented innovative pattern fully demonstrates the vitality of entrepreneurial innovation.

According to statistics, the patent applications in Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) have increased year on year since 2002. In 2011 Tibet generated 244 the patent applications and published 315 articles of science and technology.

In 2012, Tibet provided more support for its enterprises on technological innovation. Several technological innovation alliances were organized, including the Tibet Grass Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, the Tibet Green Food Technology Innovation Alliance and the Tibetan Medicine Research, and Development Technology Innovation Alliance. The projects of science and technology were introduced to support and drive the construction of the alliances.
