Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh said that India recognizes Tibet as a part of the Chinese territory and will not allow Tibetans to conduct political activities against China in India, during Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's maiden visit to India on May 18, 2013, reported by Xihuna.

Singh said India adheres to an independent foreign policy, which should not be used as a tool to contain China.

India, Singh said, is willing to make concerted efforts with China to show the world that they are cooperative partners instead of rivals.
