Lhasa-Shigatse Railway completed its first ten-kilometer-tunnel

Photo taken on May 25, 2013 shows the engineering and technical staffs are walking out of the Lhasa-Shigatse railway's longest tunnel - the 10.41 kilometer Penyinla Tunnel, which is completed Saturday. The Lhasa-Shigatse railway linking Lhasa and Shigatse in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has been under construction as an extension line of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway since 2010. It extends 253 kilometers, including 90 kilometers in the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon.[Photo/Xinhua]
