Shigatse Prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region plans to level up its agriculture technologies through further promotion of key technologies and optimized layout of high-yielding, green agricultural industry.
With passionate ambition towards the local agricultural development, Zhang Hongbo, deputy secretary of the prefectural Party committee said that Shigatse aims to establish 3 science education bases and 10 town-level movable stations for science popularization in nine of its western counties and five more along the Nian river by the end of the 12th Five-Year plan period (2011-2015).
Some practical technologies with high-tech and high-economic potentials will be applied in facilitating grain production, livestock breeding, and animal epidemic prevention, etc.
A social service system is also considered crucial for technological innovation among folk forces and building of a diversified agriculture and husbandry technology service system that is supported by multiple sides. The local government will lead to attract more talents and mobilize various resources.
