In practice of the Scientific Outlook on Development, southern Tibet’s Lhoka Prefecture kicked off to an encouraging economic start in the first quarter of 2011, making another step ahead to build itself into a multi-function base of distinctive industry, energy supply, modern service and tourism.
Statistics show that in the first four months, the gross domestic product of Lhoka reached 10.36 billion yuan, 6.8 percent higher over the same period of last year. Farmers and herders’ per capita income increased to 776 yuan by 12.5 percent. Fixed assets investment accomplished 440 million yuan, up by 30% compared with that of last year.
Not hard to tell that the good start will surely underpin the region’s economic headway in 2011.
Zhao Xianzhong, deputy secretary of the prefectural Party committee stressed to allocate more efforts in various sectors to ensure the faster, better development of the south pearl of Tibet.
