Work will begin on April 20 on villagers' houses destroyed in the quake worst-hit areas in Damxung County, 76 km away from capital Lhasa.
Herdsmen of 151 households in Yangyi Village, Gyaidar Town, Damxung County, are expected to move into new homes at the end of September, according to Gyaidar, secretary of the village Branch of the Communist Party of China.

(Xinhua/Zhang Quan)"Considering the financial difficulty in reconstructing the houses, the government will give each household a subsidiary of 30,000 yuan, in addition to 1,500 yuan per capita," he said.
"The financial department will also provide interest-free loans for those worse-off herdsmen to help them overcome difficulties," Gyaidar added.
