Memory of navy blue

It is said that the navy blue is the most expensive pigment, which is even more precious than gold.

Professor Ngawang Jigme told me a story about the navy blue pigment. There was an old man who used to be a miner in Nyemo County in the old Tibetan regional government. His main work was to find the navy blue and malachite ores. The cave for mining is so deep that he could have died at any moment. But punishment for failure was even crueler, so he had to make every effort. His lost countless friends in the mines.

If we did not know this story, we would not realize the significance of the stones lying in the research office.
