The Yangbajain geothermal wetland lies in the south of Damxung County at the intersection of the two tributaries in the upper reaches of the Tohlung Chu River, one tributary of the Lhasa River in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
There are many big and small thermal springs at a temperature about 30℃-40℃, make up China's famous geothermal field.
The vast marsh around thermal springs can be used to graze livestock while the peat layers of some wetlands can be utilized as fuel.
The Yangbajain geothermal power station has been run to generate electricity out of the local geothermal resources, supplying power to residents and agricultural industry in rural and urban areas of Lhasa.
