Menang Dorje, China's first-class Tibetan composer, held a concert of his episodes on Friday evening in the Hall of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Beijing.

Jia Qinglin, vice minister of CPPCC, Du Qinglin, minister of the United Front Work of the CPC, and other officials with CPPCC, presented at the concert.

Songs that are familiar to everyone, like "Yearning for Holy Hawk", "Mt. Qomolangma, "Kham Man" and so on, were performed.

Famous Tibetan singers Han Hong, Cedai Drolma and Ya Dong, went on the stage, highlighting the concert.

"Today is my birthday and I am so lucky to sing the song of Menang Dorje here to celebrate it, that is quite meaningful," said Hang Hong during her song break.

That deserves an "express" journey to Tibet. With songs chanting, endless grassland, snow-capped mountains, picturesque landscape, peaceful life, etc., drop into your mind involuntarily.

"I could not help myself producing an idea to travel to Tibet," said one of the audiences.

Menang Dorje, dubbed as "Musical prince of Tibet", has composed dozens of popular songs that go on and on, like "Yearning for Holy Hawk", "Mt. Qomolangma, "Kham Man" and so on. By far, he has melodized more than 200 songs, some has grasped medals in domestic musical competition.

As a composer, Menang Dorje's appearance may not create wide sensation like other pop singers. But no one will grudge his/her praise when listening to his music.

"Tibet nourishes my inspiration, it is the cradle of my songs, without it, I will be totally at a loss," said Menang Dorjet.

The concert, entitled "Sing a song for my motherland", was jointly sponsored by the China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC) and CPPCC Newspaper Office.
