Sweeping changes have taken place in Tibet over the past five decades since the democratic reform was launched 50 years ago.

Tibet today witnesses economic growth, social progress, unity among people of all ethnic groups, reinforced border defence and effective protection and development of traditional Tibetan culture.

Furthermore, people of all ethnic groups in Tibet enjoy full freedom of religious belief and a steadily rising living standard. Remarkable progress has been made in Tibet's human rights cause in an all-round way, along with the coordinated economic, political, social and cultural development.
