A total 140 students in Nedong County of Lhoka Prefecture including 60 from high schools, 30 from middle schools and 50 from primary schools received the first subsidy from a scholarship donated by the society.
Founded with a total amount of 0.5 million yuan by Liu Qitao, executive director of a Shanghai company, the scholarship aims at giving a hand to those outstanding students in Lhoka who have difficulties with study fees, offering 1,200 yuan to high school students each, 400 yuan to middle school students each and 200 yuan to primary school students each every academic year.
