Labrang Monastery in Gansu holds religious activities

Labrang Monastery in Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, held another two religious activities on March 3 and March 4 following its Grand Summons Ceremony.

The annual Liangbao Summons was held in Labrang Monastery on March 4, attracting rural Tibetans from around the monastery.

On March 4, it took Jiaoba, a local rural man, two hours to arrive by bus. "I come to attend the Liangbao Summons specially together with my family," he said.

Labrang Monastery has a history of 300 years. As another center for conveying Gelug Sect (yellow sect) of Tibetan Buddhism, it has six colleges and 108 branch temples. Since opening to the public in 1984, it has attracted a great number of tourists.
