Lhasa improving healthcare for rural residents

Tibet's capital of Lhasa will spend five million yuan (0.73 million U.S. dollars) in 2010 on free physical checks-up for rural residents over the age of 45, according to the Lhasa City Health Bureau.

Such checks-up will be conducted in the township-level hospitals with the assistance of municipal and county-level hospitals, said Geleg, director of the bureau.

Meanwhile, the city will build three extra community health centers next year in a bid to provide convenient medical services for urban residents.
