Recently, the national education commission arrived at Nyingchi Prefecture, Tibet, to inspect the implementation of the "two basics", which meant the plan to make nine-year compulsory education universal and to eliminate illiteracy among the young and middle-aged people in the western region. Experts of the commission affirmed the educational achievement that the Nyingchi educational department has made over the past decades.
