09:15, September 30, 2011

Raising national flag is common in public places on Mondays or in important events in Inland China. While, Tibetan Grandma Tsering Chodron keeps raising Chinese national flag at home for the past 46 years in a remote village in Tibet.

Tsering Chodron was born in Zham Township of Nylam County in 1910. In 2008, she received a national flag presented by Chinese National Flag Guard of Honor from Tian'anmen Square. On Oct. 15, 2009, Tsering Chodron was identified as the only person who keeps flag raising every day for the biggest number of years by Shanghai Great World Guinness Headquarters.

Her flag raising story touched everyone. Pema Yangzom, a fourth grade Tibetan student, who was very proud of this Tibetan grandma said,"We should learn from Tibetan grandma for her love for our motherland. I was inspired by her spirit and will make my own efforts to contribute to our country."
