Lhasa embraces first snow

The first snow fell in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

According to the regional Meteorological Station, it's rainy or snowy in the east and north this week (Oct. 31-Nov.6). Light snow (or rain) is going to fall in Chamdo, Nyingchi and the central and east of Nagqu with some areas to see light and moderate snow. Showery snow (or rain) is going to fall in Lhasa and Lhoka.

The temperature would drop with the lowest below -2℃ on the average and below -10℃ in Ngari and Nagqu.

The Meteorological Station warned people to keep warm and prevent diseases.

Experts also suggested that drivers should pay attention to traffic safety on wet and slippery roads and avoid fatigue driving, and that authorities concerned should work for fire prevention in forests and grassland.
